About the event

2024 is the Year of the Wood Dragon, beginning on February 10th, 2024 (Chinese New Year) and concluding on January 28th, 2025 (Chinese New Year's Eve). The Dragon is also associated with the years 2012, 2000, 1988, 1976, 1964, and 1952. People born in Dragon years usually possess natural courage, tenacity, and intelligence, often displaying enthusiasm and confidence.

In Chinese culture, the Dragon holds a significant place as an auspicious and extraordinary creature, unparalleled in talent and excellence. It symbolizes power, nobility, honor, luck, and success. Consequently, 2024 is forecasted to bring about opportunities, changes, and challenges. If you're seeking a shift in your current lives, this year might offer a favorable chance.

According to the Chinese horoscope, the luckiest zodiac signs in 2024 are Monkeys, Roosters, and Pigs. Following closely behind are Tigers, Rabbits, Snakes, Monkeys, Roosters, and Dogs. However, if you're born in the Year of the Rat, Ox, Dragon, Horse, Goat, or Dog, you might need to brace yourself for various challenges and make more effort than in 2023 to achieve your goals.

What Qualities Does the Dragon Represent?

Those born in the Year of the Dragon are believed to be ambitious, energetic, and charismatic, often inspiring others with their passion and enthusiasm. They are considered to be natural leaders, confident and unafraid to take risks, making them magnetic personalities in social and professional circles.

How the Chinese Zodiac Works

The traditional Chinese lunisolar year has 12 months and 353 to 355 days (or during a leap year, 13 months and 383 to 385 days).

Therefore, the Chinese year usually begins several weeks into the Western 365-day year (usually between January 21 and February 20), not on January 1 of the Gregorian calendar.

As is ancient tradition, the Chinese zodiac attaches animal signs to each lunar year in a cycle of 12 years. The animal designation changes at the start of the New Year.

A Deeper Look

On a broader scale, the Chinese lunisolar calendar counts its years according to the stem-branch system, a 60-year rotating name system also known as the Chinese sexagenary cycle. By this, a year’s name contains two parts: the celestial stem and the terrestrial branch.

The celestial, or heavenly stem, is taken from a rotating list of 10 terms concerning the yin/yang forms of five elements.

The Stem (wood, fire, earth, metal, and water): jia, yi, bing, ding, wu, ji, geng, xin, ren, and gui.

Stem/Element

jia = yang wood

yi = yin wood

bing = yang fire

ding = yin fire

wu = yang earth

ji = yin earth

geng = yang metal

xin = yin metal

ren = yang water

gui = yin water

The terrestrial, or earthly, branch is taken from a rotating list of the 12 animal names of the Chinese zodiac.

Branch/Animal

zi = rat

chou = ox

yin = tiger

mao = rabbit

chen = dragon

si = snake

wu = horse

wei = sheep/goat

shen = monkey

you = rooster

xu = dog

hai - boar/pig

So, putting the stem and branch terms together, the first year in a 60-year cycle is called jia-zi (Year of the Rat) as jia is the celestial stem and zi (rat) is the terrestrial branch. The next year is yi-chou (Year of the Ox), and so on. The 11th year is jia-xu, etc., until a new cycle starts over with jia-zi.

What is A New Moon Circle About?

New Moon Circles are dedicated to releasing old energies, habits, and negativity that prevent you from moving forward, achieving your goals, and living your best life! New Moon Circles differ from Full Moon Circles because during a New Moon Circle, you will release but you will also invite in abundance! We take it a step further to focus more on what we desire more of in life.

Is This a Private Event?

This event is open to any and everyone and is a beautiful opportunity to meet and make new genuine connections with others who are focused on their spiritual and self-development.

Do I Need To Bring Anything?

No, bringing yourself, wearing comfortable clothing and getting a friend to participate with you are all we suggest.

What Happens During a New Moon Circle?

During a New Moon Circle, we release negativity and answer hard questions about ourselves and our emotional and spiritual progress. These questions are given by our Full Moon guide, Judith Dazle, empath, intuitive, life coach and owner of the Rock Collage. Your answers are journaled by you and only seen by you. After all the questions are answered, all participants burn their papers one by one and we have an emotional check-in and allow for an open discussion to occur for those who feel comfortable sharing. In our New Moon Circles, we also burn ancestor money, as a tribute to our ancestors. If you've never heard of ancestor money, see our Instagram post here for a description on ancestor money  https://www.instagram.com/p/B1r2Pg6hZUW/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link

All supplies will be provided for you.
