Healing Your Chakras: Part 2

In part one of our chakra blog post series we discussed the root chakra, sacral chakra, and solar plexus chakra. In part two, we will discuss the final four chakras and ways you can heal or work on healing them. Heart Chakra

The center of the chest is home to the heart chakra. Kindness, generosity, and compassion are all linked to this chakra. The gateway to the soul, the heart energy connects us to all living things and allows us the capacity to feel love and care for others. When your heart chakra is blocked, feelings of anger, jealousy, and resentment take over. It can be hard to see through the cloud of bitterness that an unbalanced heart chakra can cause. High blood pressure, heart disease, chest pain, and asthma can all be triggered by a blockage of the flow of energy in this chakra.

Balancing the heart chakra requires letting go of past hurts. Releasing the anger that you have been holding onto and making peace with injustices done to you will help your heart chakra to heal. The color green is associated with this chakra. Aventurine and jade bracelets are wonderful talismans to serve as reminders of your intention to open your heart chakra. Jasmine, lavender, and rose incense are fragrant and soothing tools to assist in your path to balance.

Anoint a green candle with lavender oil and recite the following affirmation:

"I am open to love.

All love resides within my heart.

I deeply and completely love and accept myself.

I nurture my inner child.

I am wanted and loved.

I live in balance, in a state of gratefulness and gratitude.

I love the beauty of nature and the animal world.

I forgive myself.

I am open to love and kindness.

I am grateful for all the challenges that helped me to transform and open up to love.

I am connected with other human beings.

I feel a sense of unity with nature and animals.

I accept things as they are.

I am peaceful."

Eating a diet full of leafy greens is a healthy way to open your heart chakra. Also, consider incorporating nature hikes into your routine. Focus on breathing in the fresh, pure air and breathing out any anger and resentment you are carrying in your heart.

As the name suggests, this chakra is located in the throat. The flow of energy connected to the throat chakra focuses on your inner voice and how you use it to communicate with those around you. Self-expression, trust, and loyalty surge through the throat chakra. Feelings of frustration and inadequacy arise when there is an imbalance in this area. You may find that you are unable to express yourself the way you want and that those around you do not understand you. Disruptions in this chakra can be manifested by throat and mouth problems, bronchitis, thyroid issues and laryngitis.

Healing the chakra starts with asserting your self-worth. Treating yourself with love and dignity will help balance the flow of energy in the throat chakra. Blue is the color connected to this chakra. Aquamarine is an extremely powerful blue stone that you can use when manifesting your inner voice.

Dress a blue candle with geranium oil and recite the following affirmation:

"I am open, clear, and honest in my communication.

I have a right to speak my truth.

I communicate my feelings with ease.

I express myself creatively through speech, writing, or art.

I have a strong will that lets me resolve my challenges.

I nourish my spirit through creativity.

I live an authentic life.

I have integrity.

I love to share my experiences and wisdom.

I know when it is time to listen.

I express my gratitude towards life.

I listen to my body and my feelings to know what my truth is.

I take good care of my physical body.

I am at peace."

Singing, alone or in an organized setting, is a source of empowerment that can open up a blocked throat chakra. Consider joining a local choir. Or, if you prefer, belt out your favorite song in the car or shower.

Also called the Brow Chakra, this energy force is located on the forehead, between the eyes. The third eye chakra focuses on the flow of our imagination, wisdom and intuition. The ability to trust our inner voice and the ability to strengthen our psychic powers is centered in our third eye. When questions of self doubt enter into our thoughts, our third eye chakra may be closed. Uncertainty about the path we are on and distrust in our choices starts as a nagging voice but can build to a deafening internal scream. Headaches, difficulty concentrating and learning disabilities are often manifestations of imbalance in the third eye chakra.

Balancing this chakra begins with strengthening your intuition. Activities such as yoga and meditation work to build your insight. Finding a quiet place for reflection and introspection are helpful ways to support your third eye and improve the energy flow from your third eye chakra. Light a spiritual balance chakra karma cleansing candle and recite the following affirmation:

"I am in touch with my inner guidance.

I listen to my deepest wisdom.

I seek to understand and to learn from my life experiences.

I am wise, intuitive, and connected with my inner guide.

I nurture my spirit.

I listen to the wisdom of elders.

I trust my intuition.

I forgive the past and learn what was there for me to learn.

I forgive myself.

I love and accept myself.

I know that all is well in my world.

I am connected with the wisdom of the universe.

I am open to inspiration and bliss.

My life moves effortlessly.

I am at peace.

I am the source of my truth and my love."

The indigo blue associated with the third eye chakra represents the clarity of the sea and sky. Re-connect to nature and to your intuition by enjoying the solitude of the beach or nearby river or lake.

The last of the seven chakras sits on the top of the head. The crown chakra signifies our spiritual connection to our surroundings. Responsible for spirituality and enlightenment, a person with a strong flow of energy through their crown chakra will be a powerful leader, an inspirational visionary and healer to those in need. Any blockage in the flow of the energy of this chakra can lead to acts of selfishness, a loss of faith in a higher power, and feelings of worthlessness. Depression, circulatory problems and insomnia may present when the crown chakra is unbalanced.

The vibrant color violet is associated with this chakra. The fragrant lavender and jasmine oils should be used by someone who is trying to improve the flow of energy to their crown chakra. Wear a purple necklace to remind you of your intention to reconnect to your spirituality. Carry quartz crystals with you. This powerful stone is considered a master healer and will focus your purpose.

Light a purple candle and repeat the following affirmation:

"I am part of the Divine.

I honor the Divine within me.

I seek to understand and to learn from my life experiences.

I cherish my spirit.

I seek experiences that nourish my spirit.

I listen to the wisdom of universe.

I trust my intuition.

I am open to letting go of my attachments.

I live in the present moment.

I am grateful for all the goodness in my life.

I love and accept myself.

I know that all is well in my world.

I am connected with the wisdom of the universe.

I am open to divine wisdom.

My life moves with grace.

I am at peace."
